On March 6, the British Embassy in Vietnam organized an event to introduce the Tech Vietnam Advocates technology community.

British Consul General in Ho Chi Minh City Emily Hamblin spoke at the launch event of Tech Vietnam Advocates in Ho Chi Minh City on March 6

“Tonight’s event marks the start of Vietnam’s leg of the Southeast Asia-UK Tech Week,” said Emily Hamblin, the British Consul General in Ho Chi Minh City, at the launch of Tech Vietnam Advocates, sponsored by Le & Tran Law Corporation, a law firm specializing in commercial litigation, labor, and criminal law – providing legal advice to multinational companies in Vietnam.

Ms. Hamblin mentioned that the Southeast Asia-UK Tech Week “is a leading initiative of the UK government, demonstrating our commitment to enhancing technology relations with some of the most exciting and rapidly developing innovative economies in Southeast Asia, which are undergoing extraordinary digital transformations. Vietnam is certainly no exception in that space.”

She further emphasized, “We truly desire to build and have deep technological relations with Vietnam and Southeast Asia.”

The launch of Tech Vietnam Advocates is part of the Southeast Asia-UK Tech Week, which is organized by the UK government for the second time and attracts the participation of technology leaders and top innovative companies from the UK and Southeast Asia. With Bangkok, Thailand, and Ho Chi Minh City as the main destinations, the Southeast Asia-UK Tech Week lasts for one week in these two cities to share information and bridge the technology ecosystem between the UK and Southeast Asia, according to a statement from Tech Vietnam Advocates. The event in Ho Chi Minh City takes place from March 6-8.

During the Southeast Asia-UK Tech Week, industry leaders and experts in the technology field gather to share valuable information and knowledge about the Fintech industry.

The launch of Tech Vietnam Advocates opens up a new chapter for the technology ecosystem in Vietnam, as well as for the future connection of the technology ecosystems between Vietnam and the United Kingdom, according to Tech Vietnam Advocates.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Hai Thanh spoke at the Tech Vietnam Advocates launch event in Ho Chi Minh City on March 6

“Tech Vietnam Advocates, together with its partner communities, will promote the technology ecosystem and connect Vietnam not only within the region but also globally,” shared Nguyen Thi Hai Thanh (Nicole Nguyen), National Director of Tech Vietnam Advocates.

Tech Vietnam Advocates is the Vietnam branch of Global Tech Advocates, a global technology community and partner of the UK government in programs and events aimed at promoting technology.

This expansion reflects the recognition of Vietnam’s potential as a leading technology hub in the region and the commitment of Global Tech Advocates and its alliance of partners, including the UK government, to promote growth and cooperation within the technology ecosystem.
